Our Staff Cares about Our Members — And Wins Award for Diligence
Optima Health prides itself on having caring and compassionate staff that go above and beyond to assist members. From the operator, to member service representatives to the case managers, it’s our goal to support our members by providing exceptional experiences.
One member of our team was recently recognized by Sentara’s internal award programs, the ACE Awards (Always Committed to Excellence). Sentara is Optima Health’s parent company. The purpose of the awards is to recognize and reward employees and volunteers that ALWAYS strive to provide excellence in safety and customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, members and coworkers.
No one embodies the essence of the ACE Awards more than Donna Hart-Becker. Donna is a Case Manager in Health Care Services, managing our members with chronic illnesses at Optima Health. Donna truly puts patient safety and compassion first. She has received numerous accolades and ‘thank you’ notes from members for her superior care. One day during a routine telephone call with a member she noticed the member had shortness of breath. She was able to encourage the member to seek help right away. Later she learned that the member had aggravated a lung condition (COPD-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Donna is strongly dedicated to helping our members attain their optimum level of wellness based on their condition. The care she provides is an example of the type of quality care that Optima Health members receive. We congratulate Donna!
