New Staff in Virginia Beach

Jody Dugger

Jody Dugger, Product Development Manager – Jody brings to Optima Health considerable experience working with Consumer Directed Health Plans (CDHPs). In her new role, Jody will be responsible for guiding the growth of the Optima Health CDHPs; assessing product performance; gathering market intelligence to optimize the CDHP portfolio of health plans; and overseeing the integration of CHDPs with administrators of health savings accounts and health reimbursement arrangements. Most recently, Jody served as the CDHP Product Marketing Manager for CIGNA Healthcare in Lake Cumberland, KY where she oversaw business teams implementing strategies for all CDHP lines of business. Prior to that, she worked for Florida-based United Healthcare/Definity Health as the Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) Product Director. Additionally, she has served as Product Development Manager for Humana Inc. in Florida and Vista Health Plan, Inc. in Kentucky. Jody holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY.

Lisa Buswell

Lisa Buswell, Client Executive – Lisa joins Optima Health as a Large Group (100+ employees) Client Executive for the Hampton Roads market. Lisa has been a producer with USI Insurance Services in Norfolk since 2008, and had previously been the Director of Account Management, Key Accounts with United/MAMSI in Virginia Beach. Her expertise includes all areas of group benefits including fully insured and self funded insurance products, underwriting, clinical analysis, consumer engagement, worksite wellness, implementation, and project management. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA and is the current Legislative Chair for the Eastern Virginia chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters.

Roanoke Office Staff Expanding

Optima Health is excited to share with you our most recent appointments to our Roanoke office. Optima Health is offering large and small business health insurance as well as traditional HMO, PPO, and CDHP products and administering our Medicaid product, Optima Family Care in the Roanoke and New River Valley market. The Roanoke office is located at 129 East Campbell Ave in downtown Roanoke, or more formerly known as the Dr. Pepper building.

Tim Glebus

Tim Glebus, Regional Sales Manager – Tim joins Optima Health as the Regional Sales Manager for small group commercial sales (2-99 employees). In his most recent position, Tim worked at Aetna Health Insurance in Dallas, Texas as the National Manager overseeing Individual health insurance and managing 25 General Agency partners from across the country. Prior to that he worked at The Insurance Exchange in Dallas, Texas as the Vice President of Sales responsible for all aspects of the agency’s small group sales department. Additionally, Tim worked at WellCare Health Plans as Director of National Distribution and UnitedHealthcare/PacifiCare Health Systems as Director of Mid-Large Group Sales, both in Dallas, Texas. Tim studied Communications at The University of Texas at Austin and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Ashley Austin

Ashley Austin, Account Executive – Ashley joins the small group commercial sales (2-99 employees) team from D & S Life Agency, Inc. in Roanoke where she served as an Account Manager/Employee Benefit Advisor since 2002. She brings more than 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, implementing benefit programs, wellness services, employee orientation, and open enrollment employee meetings. Prior to working in the insurance field, Ashley worked in administrative services at two firms in the state. Ashley holds a bachelor of science in Business Administration from Bridgewater College, VA and she is a certified licensed Health and Annuities agent and is also certified in Medicare Part D. She is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
